在这项研究中，开展双星普查提供了全新工具。来自该台、科研人员成功观测到热亚矮星-白矮星双星系统HD 265435的视向速度变化，相关研究成果发表于《中国科学：物理学 力学 天文学（英文版）》。科研人员通过数值模拟和实际观测验证了“重瞳”测速系统的有效性。让普通的地面望远镜也能高效捕捉到双星系统相互环绕“跳舞”时的速度变化，
